FAMILY PLANNING FREQUENTLY ASKED
QUESTIONS:
Do I have to be 18 or older to get
birth control?
No. Services are available to all women of every age group.
Will my parents need to give
permission?
No. Parental consent is not required for family planning
patients who are minors.
What about confidentiality?
The clinic staff does all it can to protect patients' confidence
and privacy.
How much does it cost?
A sliding scale fee based on income is available. Some
insurances are also accepted.
Women 40 and over who financially qualify may receive an exam,
pap smear and mammogram at no cost.
What if I only want information?
You may make an appointment for information and discussion only.
May I bring my partner with me?
Yes. We welcome you to bring friends with you for counseling,
even parents if you want to.
I don't want pills. What can I do?
Pills are not the only method of birth control. Other methods
are available, both in the clinic and drug stores, but you need
to be taught their correct use, side effects and effectiveness
ratings.
What if I think I may be pregnant?
Pregnancy testing is at no cost. Call to make an
appointment.
